Free Map(s) 034: Yet Another River Section

Free Map(s) 034: Yet Another River Section
This week's free map(s) are a little late, I know....but I didn't want to detract from the quality maps that Matt was putting up as part of his Maps for Heroes campaign.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Last week I went up into the mountains to visit a fellow Toastmaster and the majority of our drive was alongside a couple of mountain rivers. The granite outcroppings were rather stunning and I had some game-related ideas that I'm in the process of putting together as another Tweak & Toss encounter set.

First though, I needed a map. I went online and started with the USGS National Map Viewer. After finding the area I wanted to play with I downloaded the map and went to town. The only original part of the map that remains is some of the contours and some relief shading, but even those were edited. This map took a bit longer than expected because I got to playing with some new Photoshop brushes I made just for this map.

I liked the results and hopefully you will too!

There are two versions for download, one with contours, elevation, and a re-purposed distance marker, and one without. Because there are two versions, you'll need to click on each picture to download the maps. Each map is roughly Letter sized (with margins), 300 DPI, and between 4 and 5 MB.
