d30 Challenge Day 19

d30 Challenge Day 19
This is my 19th entry in the d30 Challenge, which is a bastardization of an idea I first saw on Mark "CMG" Clover's feed. Now I'm a sucker for these things and I know some folks aren't so while I'm committed to answering one question about my favorite hobby each day, and putting together a d30 table before the end of the month, I know not everyone is so interested. I'll put the question & answer after the break, posting late in the day, and not promoting this on G+ so those who don't like this kind of thing should be exposed only minimally.

I think this is the best I can do....
Day 19's question is "Favorite Elemental/Plant/Construct".

Yellow Musk Creeper from AD&D
This is one I had to think about for a few minutes. I'm not a big fan of elementals and I do like golems, but it was the plant aspect that intrigued me the most. There are a few lovely plants out there...I do like Brown Mold and please let us not forget the wonder that was the Yellow Musk Creeper.

My favorite though has to be the humble Shrieker. Here is a plant that really does nothing to the party and just tries to mind its own business, just like 99.99999% of the other plants the party might wander by doing the various things murderhobos do. All this plant wants to do is be left the hell alone. If you invade its space, it screams...or "shrieks" bloody murder. A classic, "You leave me alone, I leave you alone" scenario. Now I'm not sure about other systems, but in my current game Shriekers (actually called "Schreechers") aren't an identifiable plant species...unless you count knowing one after it starts to wail as an identification method.

I love the Schreecher....pretty much a trap and monster in one.
