Free Map063: A Multi-Level Cave System

Free Map063: A Multi-Level Cave System
This week's Free Map is a multi-level cavern system. The freebie version of this map is 11" x 17", while my Patrons get a significantly larger 24" x 36" map. Both maps are High Quality PDFs so you can chose to have them printed professionally or simply tile the pages for printing out at home (a feature available with Adobe Acrobat).

With Erik Tenkar's pimping of the Frugal GM yesterday I didn't want to half-ass a map for this week. I figured it was worth staying up working on this bear of a map.

Hopefully you'll agree....

Like always, you can click on either graphic in this post to go to the download page, or use this link.

Free GM Resource: OpenD6 RPG System and Some Maps

Free GM Resource: OpenD6 RPG System and Some Maps
Today's Free GM Resource is a bit of a twofer from one original source.

First we have the Anarchy RPG, which is a "post-apocalyptic adventure based on the OpenD6 system". You can download the PDF of the game for PWYW over at DTRPG using this link. Now to play this game you'd need to know the OpenD6 rules, which is available as a freebie download over at the Dicegeeks website.

While you are visiting Dicegeeks, you might want to check out their set of free Dungeon Maps.

Now this might seem like three Free GM Resources this morning, but this early in the morning I'm not the best at math.....

Frugal GM Review: Medieval Tannery from DramaScape

Frugal GM Review: Medieval Tannery from DramaScape
This week I decided to take another look at a DramaScape item and the Medieval Tannery just jumped out at me. I don't think I've ever seen a RPG publisher tackle a tannery and frankly the cover really pulled me in.

Now I discovered the Medieval Tannery through a bit of link-hopping. While this download is PWYW, the rest of the DramaScape line, at least those with a price, range from $4-$8.

Free (or PWYW) d30 Table: Random Jewelry Generator

Free d30 Table: Random Jewelry Generator
April's Free d30 Table is now up on DTRPG.

I've been working on a series of alternate treasure tables for use with any OSR game. My Patrons have been getting the tables as I finish them, and I've been putting them up on DTRPG as PWYW titles on a monthly basis.

The d30 Random Gem Generator was quite popular, so this month's table is a d30 Random Jewelry Generator. May's table is already finished and I'm working on the final two tables for the series. I do have an idea for another random treasure, but I'm not sure if it is worth fleshing out.

If you want to get to the new d30 table, feel free to click on either graphic in this post, or use this link.

Free GM Resource: Kismet's Dungeons & Dragons

Free GM Resource: Kismet's Dungeons & Dragons
Today's Free GM Resource isn't going to be to everyone's tastes, but then again, this could be said for any other Free GM resource.

Kismet's Dungeons & Dragons pretty much feels like just one GM's (ok....DM's) personal website being used to keep track of campaign-specific details. I originally stumbled across this site years ago when I was looking for some information on how to value slaves for my campaign. Personally I found Kismet's Guide to Slave Costs quite useful.

There are also pages with GM DM information in the form of tips & tricks. Sometimes when I see things like this the information comes off as preachy in a "I'm smarter than you" types fashion. I didn't get that here. I won't go into everything available on the site, but will mention there is some great info on coming up with names, as well as a huge list of fantasy names.

Kismet's Dungeons & Dragons has a lot of good info you might find useful for your current, or future campaign.

Frugal GM Review: Dragonlock Miniatures from Fat Dragon Games

Frugal GM Review: Dragonlock Miniatures from Fat Dragon Games
I'm pushing this week's review up a day so I can remind everyone about Fat Dragon Games' 50% Sale over at DTRPG.

OK, with that service announcement out of the way I can dive into this week's review. A while back I was gifted a set of Dragonlock Miniatures: Lizardfolk Set 1.

Free Map062: Civilized Countryside

Free Map062: Civilized Countryside
I'm still working on the map that I have in mind for a particular Tweak & Toss. That map needs a few more hours of work, but I do have the free version of the map available now.

This map is 11" x 17" as a high-quality PDF.

This map is quite different from my normal map in that it has buildings and roads. I didn't label anything, but the town is called Mancatcher and the cobblestone paved roads are part of the "King's Road" that helped beat this part of the world into submission.

Of course whatever backstory you want to put on this map will work just fine.....

Like usual, click on either graphic in this post to get to the map, or use this link.

Just a Little Head's Up on Some Projects I'm Working On

Just a Little Head's Up on Some Projects I'm Working On
First off...no work-in-progress pics on this post. I'm actually working on a couple of things at a time here. With the exception of the plethora of Combined Height & Weight Charts I did a few months ago, I've been trying to come up with one new d30 table a month.

As great as a simple idea like "one d30 table a month" goes, my planning and creative process isn't always up to snuff so I've been front-loading things by deliberately working ahead on these tables. My Patrons (over at Patreon) get the tables as they are completed, while the rest of the world will have to wait for them to come up in the monthly release queue.

I'm also working on another HUGE map, but I'm not intending to release it as a huge map but instead of several smaller maps. Most of my maps are pretty much wilderness maps, but this time the larger map is of civilized farmland and I pretty much have to figure out how to adapt the....I don't think "skills" is the right word.....processes I've been using on previous maps to the newer ones. Some of the stuff I've been doing I'll just have to toss out the window because they are too big a PITA dealing with a larger map (or even multiple smaller ones). Of course, the way I figure it, I'll probably just be trading one monotonous PITA process for another, so if I just completely lose it in the next few days, you'll all know just what did it.

I also have two Tweak & Toss adventure seeds in the works. Right now they are basically notes hanging next to my computer, but when I get fed up with the mapwork I'm hoping I have the foresight to switch over to the writing and layout for the Tweak & Tosses.

Lastly, I'm finally getting access to some tech I need to make this thing I've been wanting to review for a good month now. I know....I know....this is pretty ambiguous, but since this something I've been drooling over for a while now I don't want to jinx myself and have this last project just go sideways on me.*

Funny that I just realized that today is actually Wednesday and not Thursday like I've been thinking it is all day. Yippee! I was wondering how I was going to get everything, most, at least some of these projects done this week.

*Late Night Edit: I managed to get three hours with a rather expensive 3D printer today and I successfully managed to print out two Lizardman Minis from Fat Dragon Games. I wasn't quite expecting to be able to get access, even though I had a "reservation". Obviously more to follow....
