Free GM Resource: Free RPG Mini's (Well, Free 3d Printing Files for Minis....)

Free GM Resource: Free RPG Mini's (Well, Free 3d Printing Files for Minis....)
This week's Free GM Resource is a collection of 3d printer files for RPG miniatures designed by Miguel Zavala (mz4250) and available for download over at Shapeways.

Miguel has made about a bazillion gaming minis and while he'll gladly print some of them up for you at a charge, he's made the overwhelming majority of his figures available for free. All you need to do is open a free Shapeways account.

When you navigate the good 11 pages of minis from mz4250, you'll note that most of them are marked "Not For Sale". These are the ones you want as they aren't for sale because you can have them for free.

Sure, you'll need access to a 3d printer, and filament isn't free, but these files are! This might just be the freebie that puts you over the top for getting your own 3d printer. Like always you can click on the lead-in graphic to go to the appropriate interweb page or use this link.

Free GM Resource: Ward's Warrens Vol 1

Free GM Resource: Ward's Warrens Vol 1
This week's Free GM Resource is a collection of 13 maps from Shane Ward called Ward's Warrens Volume 1. Shane has made these maps available under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 2.5 Canada License.

The maps themselves are being shared using a Google Drive link from Shane's blog 3 Toadstools. Since it isn't my habit to post direct links to resource files shared this way you'll juts have to check out the appropriate blog post.

If you do get any use out of these maps, I recommend you contact Shane and give some thanks or constructive feedback so he'll be more inclined to make sure we get a Volume 2.

Patreon Free/Bonus Content to Check Out

Patreon Free/Bonus Content to Check Out
I'm a bit of a doofus.....

While some of my friends will attest to this in general I'm actually specifying a recent event. A bit over a week ago I posted a piece of bonus content for that Tweak & Toss I had posted about last week (the bonus content stuff came 1st). My Patrons (or is it Patreons) got a notification on April 29th, but while the Patreon post (and bonus content) is public, I never bothered to put out the 411.

The Ecology of the Leech Dog was intended to be a Humid Harvest tie-in, but I decided to make it it's own "thing" and put it out there for folks to use & abuse.

Free GM Resource: Game Terrain engineering YouTube Channel

Free GM Resource: Game Terrain engineering YouTube Channel
Looks like a longtime Make Magazine contributor has branched out into making his own YouTube Videos for making game terrain.

So far Game Terrain Engineering has 4 videos and they range from 13 minutes to 29 minutes long. They're promising weekly videos so I think there will be a lot of content coming....

Make sure you check it out.

New d30 Table Available Now: NPC Background Generator

New d30 Table Available Now: NPC Background Generator
By my math I'm still one month behind on d30 tables, so expect at least one more d30 table this month. My regular 12 readers might not mind (or even care), but for some reason this is important for me to get back on track.

I do have some ideas still in the old brain-pan, so I should be caught up soon(ish). Unfortunately it sometimes takes a while to figure out how to make sense of the initial concept so it fits/works with the d30.

FGM037q: d30 NPC Background GeneratorAnyway.....this d30 generator is designed to provide a bit of a skeleton of sorts for a random NPC. The GM is encouraged to tweak/ignore individual tables as desired, and when looking at this generator some of the details might seem stupid. For example, who cares if the NPC is the 2nd of three kids to a couple of indifferent parents? Well, you might decide that this NPC is suffering from "Middle Child Syndrome" and acts accordingly.

I hope that you'll get some use out of this....

Like usual, click on either graphic in this post to go to the appropriate DTRPG page, or use this link.

New PWYW Tweak & Toss is up!

New PWYW Tweak & Toss is up!
I finally got around to finishing the Tweak & Toss I started last year.

Some of the basic ideas have been floating around my noggin for a while now, but getting them down into the computer was a bit problematic. Nothing technically wrong, just all me.

This one is called "The Humid Harvest" and the basic setup is that the party needs to go from point A to point B, with B being a wilderness location. Maybe they need to get out of the country, maybe they want to go bounty hunting. For whatever reason they need to get there and someone is willing to help foot the bill for a little armed escort up the river.

FGM043a: The Humid Harvest
Usually these things have some set encounters, but this time around it is mostly some ideas for flavor text. The GM could easily just use wandering monsters or attach this to an already planned adventure.

There is a bit of bonus content on my Patreon site, and a link is on the back page of this Tweak & Toss. Just a new monster to enjoy....or not.

Like usual, you can click on either graphic in this post to go to the DTRPG page, or you can use this link.

Freebie Paper Model for Warhammer 40K Games
I got an email today about a free paper model that I figured I'd share here:

Here are some cardstock model cargo containers you can use in your Warhammer 40K games. Feel free to share these all around the internet, since they're completely cost-free and copyright-free and meant for public consumption.

I won't post a direct link, but here is the appropriate Patreon post with the download link.

Free GM Resource: Random Maps from Uncharted Atlas

Free GM Resource: Random Maps from Uncharted Atlas
Early last week my buddy Topher Kersting gave me a head's up about a cool Twitter feed by the name Uncharted Atlas.

Of course at first I was like, "Who still uses Twitter?", but I checked it out and this feed pretty much does nothing but upload pictures of randomly generated maps.

The creator does have a website where he explains all the bits and bobs about the random generator in case that interests you. It's a bit much for me, but that could just be because it is a rainy Monday morning.
